The PawÉa Academy

The PawÉa Academy is the educational house through which the PawÉa Method is transmitted to a small number of practitioners each cycle.

It is a nine-month formation for those who wish to become Animal Well-Being Practitioners, Certified in the PawÉa Method.

Created for a new discipline in animal well-being, the Academy brings together presence, observation, refined manual work, ethics and a sensitive understanding of the animal-human relationship.

Graduates are prepared to carry the method within PawÉa engagements, selected hospitality settings or their own animal well-being practice.

A New Discipline in Animal Well-Being

The PawÉa Method teaches practitioners to observe, attune and support the animal’s experience through calm presence, precise touch and ethical clarity. The work is rooted in flow, care and connection. It is held with respect for the animal’s rhythm, limits and consent.

The method is non-therapeutic: it does not diagnose, treat or replace veterinary care.

What You Learn

The PawÉa Method is taught through six learning fields. Together, they form the foundation of a non-therapeutic animal well-being practice rooted in presence, observation, touch, ethics and the quality of the environment.

Presence with the Animal

You learn how to meet the animal before beginning any manual work. This includes timing, distance, approach, stillness and the ability to recognise when the animal is ready, receptive or asking for space.

Reading the Animal

You learn to read the animal in front of you through posture, rhythm, movement, age, temperament, sensitivity, comfort and response. This allows you to adapt the work to each animal individually.

Manual Work, Fascia Listening and Flow

You learn a precise manual approach inspired by osteopathic listening, fascia awareness and gentle mobilisation. The hands are trained to listen through the tissues, perceive rhythm, tension, softness and response, and support the animal’s comfort, relaxation and sense of ease.

Sensory Atmosphere and Balance

You learn how atmosphere, rhythm, sound, scent, space and subtle sensory elements can influence the animal’s experience. This supports the creation of a calm, coherent ritual space.

Ethics, Consent and Relationship

You learn how to recognise limits, respect consent and understand the animal-human relationship with care. This includes knowing when to pause, when to stop and when referral to a qualified professional is appropriate.

Hospitality and Private Settings

You learn how to carry the PawÉa Method into refined environments, from private homes and residences to hotels and Retreats. This includes discretion, spatial awareness, communication and the ability to hold the animal’s experience with elegance and care.

A Nine-Month Curriculum

The PawÉa Academy unfolds over nine months through a modular structure.

Six months of theory

The theoretical foundation is taught through monthly modules, learning materials, online lectures and interactive webinars.

These modules introduce the principles, ethics, observation skills, manual-work foundations and hospitality contexts of the PawÉa Method.

Three months of practice

After completion of the theory, the practical part unfolds through online practice webinars and in-person practice weekends in Switzerland. These weekends refine touch, presence, perception and flow through direct work with animals.

Modular entry

Because the formation is modular, students may enter at selected points in the year and progress through the themes in the rhythm of the cycle.

The practical part opens only to students who have completed the theoretical foundation.

Recognition of prior formation

Candidates with existing experience in animal work may be considered for an adapted path, reviewed individually with the Academy.

Language

The teaching is given in English. Questions and conversations are welcomed in French and German.

Certification

Certification is awarded after completion of the theoretical and practical formation.

The credential reads:

Animal Well-Being Practitioner, Certified in the PawÉa Method

It signals that the practitioner has been formed in the PawÉa Method at its source and is prepared to work according to PawÉa standards.

Who the Academy is for

The Academy welcomes those drawn to a pioneering profession in animal well-being.

It may speak to practitioners, caregivers, animal professionals, hospitality or spa professionals, and individuals wishing to follow a vocation through the PawÉa Method.

Prior experience is welcomed, but not required.

What matters most is attentiveness, sensitivity and a genuine commitment to the animal’s well-being.

Enrolment

A small cycle of practitioners is welcomed each year.

Early enquiries are welcomed.

A new discipline begins in the way we meet the animal.
